Oh, and the original poster's question.. what’s behind “were like 40 dogs cigarettes”

I think Bob's talkin about how the best relationships are far from perfect, but always spontaneous, and exciting. Where two people are super-attracted to one another for the right reasons.. you know that feeling you get in your gut, where that person just makes all the woes in your life seem insignificant and weak, and gives you almost a feeling of superiority, like being together is a magical thing like we see in the movies.. You feed off each other, and generate great memories. Life conquered through true love. And, in true bob fashion, he's babbling about a lot of silliness, and planting visions in your head to get this point across. Ok, that's probably over-analytical, but I know my wife of 16 years and I feel younger, sexier, and emboldened when we listen to bob. Like it was for us back in the day, before the kids and boring jobs.. This used to be us.. crazy and footloose, perfect for each other, in a dangerous way.

Sooooo... to me..

Romeo and Juliet - true undying love
40 Dogs - utter chaos and excitement, accompanying the true undying love (or maybe just 40 oz of beer, who knows) Cigarettes - Addicted to one another, possibly even to a fault.
