I love The Cure, and John Lennon, and particularly the original. I also appreciate the sound they were attempting in making the song their own, but quite frankly, I think they failed dismally in the "good song" department. They took the main aspect of a beautiful song; its beauty, and made it dirty and evocative, and really quite badly. This would hardly stand up as a Cure original.
