Yeah, the line in deadhead is "Now the rain it comes, the rain it blurs the grey line
...the grey line...the Greyhound home".
I love that line so much, it conveys such a heavy sense of depression and movement in so few words. Anyone who ever took a long depressing bus trip home (or far away from home)can relate to this I think. And the reference definitely adds another layer to this song for me.
I love this song, and I love Devin's music so much. He just keeps getting better. I didn't think much of Addicted at first (loved the 1st track, hated Bend it Like Bender), but over a year later, I have this song (The Way Home) on repeat at the moment. So many of Dev's greatest tracks are 'growers' for me. It's like my brain is physically incapable of realising how good certain songs are for at least a year :p
