I find this song peculiar because the whole album viva hate was about his feelings after the smiths broke up and a return to his reflections of the past . This song imposes what i believe morrissey was viewed as even before the smiths . He was always looked at as fey and too bookish , which morrissey found and im sure many do as so cliche you cant be rid of it . This is morrissey saying to people to be rid of them be yourself whatever that might be. Dont simply dial a cliche .
