I don't think it's about an incubus and a succubus, I think it's about an incubus and a human. "For the last of your days in the sun" if it was a succubus, she wouldn't be able to go into the sun.

I think an incubus has been visiting and feeding on the same girl night after night, and fell in love with her, and she with him. "Yet peculiarly cold" Perhaps the human is turning into a vampire because the incubus has taken too much blood from her?

however, in order to become a succubus or incubus demon, as old fable tells, you need to be human first, then die and go to hell.

and you don't turn into a vampire from an incubus

they remember the days when they were mortal and embrace the sad truth of their existence, that them being in love would kill one-another due to their energy absorption abilities that peak during mating, sort of like 2 black holes, they cancel eachother out
