This song is an awesome tribute to those out fighting for the US. I wrote a letter much like the first verse on my first deployment.
This song sums up how you feel when you're out lost in the sand or surrounded by jungle. You know you could be sleeping in a cozy bed, eating warm meals, enjoying your family and friends. Instead, you're getting what sleep you can on a cot or the ground; eating MREs or finding your own food or going without food; and cleaning your weapon, watching friends die, and wondering if you will even make it back. I wouldn't change anything I've done, but it really is hell out there. Just be happy the war is over there, and not here. You may oppose the war, but please support the troops. Hooah.
