My interpritation is that he was with someone and they died. Simple as that. and though many people are telling him that he should at least try to get over it, he can't bring himself to let her go.

and here's a note to all of you who miss the old Mayday Parade::
GET OVER IT. The band is moving on and becoming something else. If you miss their old stuff, go listen to it. They're still just as good as they ever were. Jason's departure may have changed their style in a way, but they're still amazing. Love Mayday Parade for what they are. They're always going to amazing.
