The song actually carries a much darker meaning than you might pick up without knowing one particular fact: Coeur D'Alene is a lake, in Idaho. When he sings about how he's safe at last in her arms, it's about how he's drowning himself in the lake to get away from his confusion.

Song Meaning

@Marrok that's a pretty ridiculous conclusion to make. As the original commenter mentioned Coueur D'Alene (both the lake and the town) are located very close to Myles's hometown (Spokane, WA). I have a feeling he's been "safe in her arms" swimming many more times than he has drowned himself. He also talks about the solace of her shore, which clearly does not indicate drowning himself.
