okay, so the expression is "no use crying over spilled milk." thus, the title should represent something in the past that the 'narrator' (per se) cannot take back and thusly there is no point in fretting and worrying over it. but, who says that they aren't stressing over it? it is simply called spilled milk as in the thing to be guilty over. This phrase can be traced back all the way to James Howell, a British historian and writer from 1659. The phrase appeared in one of his litary works, Paramoigraphy (ya das rite, did my research~ copied from 'know your phrase' or something like that). in 1659 people would have been still milking cows, not that we've stopped, its just they prolly wouldn't have been able to have gotten it in a gallon bottle (etc) like we can today. so... people went out and actually milked the cows, and the milk was either sold at markets or used to feed the family. either way, if you spilled it during this time period (when the idiom came from), your sadness would be more guilty than... sad. so there is the background of the title to give you a sense of what the song could mean.

i might do further analysis of stanza structure and POV later on.
