Does anyone else think that first verse really parallels the current economic situation concerning the Government shutdown?

-- Instead of compromising on the budget, Congress is just abandoning ship and letting it shut down. Leaving all us citizens/passengers who depend on a Gov't paycheck on our own, to drown.
