I love the sound of this song. I have no idea why it's not more popular. I played it for a couple of friends and they both loved it. Firefly is on my Sister Hazel Favorites playlist- which I need, since I have so freaking many Sister Hazel songs... what a Hazelnut.

Anyway, Firefly is obviously about falling in love with an amazing girl. The guy was in a dark time before he met her, but "she has a subtle way of making you forget your darkness." She came and lit him back up again. It's a cute metaphor. I love all the "maybe"s in the chorus, so that is shows both his hope and his underlying fear to let himself hope. Very Ken Block. This song reminds me of Truth Is off of Absolutely, and Everything Else Disappears, too. I don't know why, but I really feel like Everything Else Disappears and Firefly were written about the same person.

"She tells stories like a painter, yeah/ With colorful words that I don't always understand; But it always sounds like somewhere better than here/ Well, everywhere is better with her."
