To me, this song is like about Spencer's struggle with drugs. In case any of you didn't know that, Spencer was addicted to drugs and alcohol before he joined Underoath. If you just read the lyrics with this in mind, it can be very consistent. "Enter my veins. Feel them crawling through my skin." Maybe because he just injected himself with something? "I have to get them out of my head." Because drugs and alcohol are all he can think about. "I'll be the victor, I will destroy them." Now he's breaking the habit/addiction.
I can't say for sure that this is the real meaning, but I think it's a halfway-decent guess lol.
Yeah and that was 10 years ago :D well, could still be it but this song could tell about any kind of addiction or bad habit.
Maybe 'them' is his habit of catching himself, looking at his flaws? But he realizes that he can't make himself be a better person. He's coming down alone as he's destroying himself? But then he wins the wrong thoughts,
One breath at a time I'll be just fine,
'cause I'll be right on the inside.
