I'm not sure who this is about, but I think that this woman was abused by her father. Shes thin and frail, and bruised (bold and blue). She is obviously not doing very well and filled with the memories of how he treated her. Something must have just happened to him (ghost of your father/follow you home no more) and William is telling her its all over now, cry- let it out and you'll eventually heal.
Beautiful song. William mentioned that the difference between this album and his past albums is that Gold In the Shadow is about healing, and Wounded Head definitely reflects that.
