Basically, it's about a relationship. It could be a boy-girl, or a parent-child, or friend-friend relationship. Basically, though, assuming it isn't a parent-child relationship, it seems to be about growing apart from an important person in your life. You feel that you are on the right track in life, but (it implies) that they are on the wrong track in life. You want them back, but you've grown too far apart, and the void seems impenetrable. This would definitely make sense with a boy-girl relationship.

The whole concept of the album is about finding your identity. This song seems to be about losing someone important to you, which definitely has a huge effect on your identity.

My Interpretation

Couldn't agree with you more! It's about a relationship whether it be between people or people and God or maybe even both.

Say the song is about a boy and a girl. It could be something else, but i feel the verse 2 is more powerful if it's about love.
