Verbosity, I think you're half right. The speaker wishes she weren't getting married to this other person, but he knows that it's the right thing for her to do (maybe it's because he can't be with her fully due to his own circumstances). The last line really speaks to me, "she will be left lonely, but she will be right." It's getting married for the sake of it because it's "biologically time" and you've been with a person forever so it seems like the right thing to do. The speaker knows that her husband doesn't know how to make her happy when there's a crowd, and he can sense that she's lying when she says that she's so happy. I think that ties in with the song's title, "Happiness' Border"... she and this outside man were so close to happiness, but they can never truly cross the border and reach it. So the woman settles, and she's kind of like a trophy wife. Her new husband wants to parade her around, but she's so uneasy about all of it. It's not the life she wanted, but she drinks her wine and accepts it. I think also it may be a larger critique of marriage, and basically saying that people don't seem to do it for the right reasons.
