I (re) discovered this song several years ago while in the latter stages of a serious but tumultuous relationships when little was going right in my life or our relationship. The simple but poignant theme of "I love you and that's all I know" described my feelings perfectly. The line "but the ending always comes too fast" still breaks my heart a little. B/c I was exactly at that point: where you start to become aware that it's most likely ending, and even if you know its for the best, you remember all the great times, and wonder where they went.
B/c he wasn't a particularly talented song writer, Art to me is often sort of given the brush off as an artist, but he's performance in this song is simply stunning. In the right mood, I can listen to this song over and over again for days on end.
