Its definately talking about the end of days but its making fun of the world in a sense. The start of the song its like saying how we apparently didn't see it coming but the tone of the lyrics seems really sarcastic like its saying the warning signs are there how can we miss them.
Its also got that stereotypical take on what will happen when it is announced that the world is going to end. Chaos sets in and panic is everywhere. A good visual example of this 2012 or even the Knowing. The overwhelming tone of the song up until after the second chorus is so saddening but by this next verse the shift in tone shows happiness.
