so I could be going out on a limb here but again, i think this song is about leaving STG and the aftermath of her being on her own without a band. Maybe since she was without them, many people didn't think she could do it. like in the verse: You've been the pawn, you were the "what's left", holding on to "what's next". Everyone is waiting to see what she will do now that she's on her own and if she'll be any good without STG. Anyway, i think this song is just about people putting her down.
