I think it's about two people who are too scared to leave each other. Or maybe not scared, but just too familiar to let it go. They're not necessarily happy, just used to one another. They keep going through the same motions together because it's routine to them. And it's like breathing underwater because it's so hard for them both. I don't know why but I think the part about their legs trembling and them getting caught is about them having sex. So maybe the sexual aspect of their relationship is still alive, but emotionally they're both having trust issues and wanting to be in the other person's head to know all their secrets, but they're keeping secrets from each other because they think that's helping the relationship. That's how I see it.
