so it seems like this song is about a kid (probably a teenager) who is struggling with the fact that his parents are separated. his mom is dating his best friend's dad, he's moved out of his childhood home and he feels his family has been destroyed in a way.
my favourite line is "you climb it up or you cut it down, this is your family tree." i took it to mean you only have one family and its your choice whether you are a part of it or not.
i love the last line "sensitive kid start acting like a grown up". stop crying about your problems and looking for sympathy and grow up. shit happens.
