I had this whole story in my head to go with this song. Something like this:
Guy and a girl live in a city. They're both kind of rich. They often get together on a terrace (or maybe just a fire escape) and drink wine and have philosophical discussions ("We drink our wine and wonder why we're really here".). One thinks that nature is better and that cities destroy nature, the other thinks the city is superior and more majestic.
But, little by little, they're starting to fall in love ("something new is going to happen/the most natural thing, but nothing we'd expect.") So finally the guy decides that it doesn't really matter which of them is right, as long as they have each other ("for today I'll let it go/you've been good to me, have I been good to you?")
