Wow, only one comment! Just got this gem off of iTunes the other night. I've knew of Adele, just didn't follow through with hearing her first album. Anyway, was loving every song and this came on, and I was like "wow", I was blown away. Her voice, tone, delivery spot-on and strong. Love, love, love the interlude w/ the choir. Her band is tight too.
It is a simple love song, but written from someone who has been burnt many times before. When you start falling for the person, you start to freak out and try to resist those feelings to protect yourself from potentially getting hurt again. Start to question if they feel the same way about you, will they be there through the good/bad/inperfections of self, and then finally giving in and taking a chance on love.
She is a refresing breath of air in music today compared to the drek on radio.
It a love song yes but FAR from simple! This song is absolutely beautiful! It's timeless and years from now, it will still evoke the same emotions and demand the same response. If someone that claimed to love me dedicated this song to me, it would erase any doubt and clear any confusion. This song causes one to wonder if they've ever experienced such love or if not, would it ever be possible to do so. The lyrics combined with the piano are just a PERFECT expression of love and when the bridge reaches the peak and she hits that one...
