My mom was a die hard nirvana fan and named me after Kurt (who did spell his name with a d at one point. Look it up) so I have followed the foo fighters and researched nirvana Kurt and courtney quite a bit. Obviously it is still a huge debate about how Kurt died. This song points out that whether or not Kurt killed himself it is in someway his fault for "letting it die" or ruining the great freindship they had. I do not believe that every song Dave writes is about Kurt. In fact I believe this is the only ff song that is."Blushing bride" could have something to do with Dave thinking courtney had something to do with kurts death. This song is too specific to be about anything in general. Of course Dave Wont admit to it being about Kurt. That would lead to more questions that he shouldn't have to answer, false accusations, and possible negative criticism. Please comment if u disagree.
