From what I can get from this, the song is from Dr. Richtofen's point of view. It makes since, seeing as he is a confirmed sociopath, therefore his view upon reality could be skewed (he thinks everything he experiences is not real, which he could have used to justify his cruel mentality).
When he says "they're in his head" it alludes to the voices in Richtofen's head (it was confirmed in the Black Ops Wiki that you can occasionally hear voices when you are playing as the Doctor).
When it says "I'm wretched but I'm powerful" it could mean that Richtofen has a god-complex, which isn't surprising, but it shows that he accepts that he is a terrible person, but he claims that he is the strongest of the four survivors.
I can see where you're coming from but I have a different oppinon on the song. I think this song is about Samantha's (Maxis) split personalities. The parts of the songs that have the demonic filter on them are riddles. The answer to the first being ' A Shadow' and the answer to the second being 'Nothing.'

I think what we have here is like what the main character from Dead Space 2 suffers from. Samantha knows theres another person inside her mind, the Zombie side, and while she was previously trying her best to surpress it, it's not...

"These shackles they come, With certain opportunities. They won't let me get away. But they show me we're the same" and "It's not a state of mind I'm wretched but I'm powerful." She knows that she's the killer yet she knows that the whole persona thing is in her head. Wheras (Assumed) she once saw the zombie side as another person before her, she realised now "We're the same."
I can even back you up on this, Irishguy. the title says "Cadavre", but its pronounced "Cadaver, which is a dead body they use in MEDICAL schools to teach operations. It would make sense.

@redrain the brits spell center 'centre' and yet it's still pronounced the same. if you pay reeeeaaaaal close attention to the line, 'death is magic, say abracadavre.' she's pronouncing it 'abra cadaver.' so no, zombiequeen isn't wrong.

it makes more sense, to me, that this be in richtofen's point of view. that's just me, tho.

I guess I'll start it off here.

@ZombieQueen That's wrong. The song title is "Abracadvre", and it is not pronounced "Abracadver"
