I think it sounds like a person with angermanagement issues. He/she wants a place to call home, with people he/she cares about and likes, but then reality kicks in and heshe just wants a place where heshe can be alone and release the rage(storms still free to roam). Also fits in with the last words as people with aggressive persons in their life might feel more free if they would be gone.
On annother note the vampire interpretion does sound pretty convinsing aswell..
