At first this song sounded to me as if were an atheists anthem. But the more I read it, the lines that say "Don't you call my name, I won't answer..." Is supposedly God's voice to mankind.

And the line saying "God is dead" is in reference to people turning away from God because of Christendom's dogma driving masses away
