Lost In You

The way I see this song is like this:

"I always knew that you'd Come back to get me And you always knew that It wouldn't be easy To go back to the start To see where it all began Or end up at the bottom To watch how it all ends"

Just like others have said, he knew she'd come back for him. To see how he is and because she missed him. She knew it would be hard for him to see her again, possibly because she never gave him the chance to be together because of another man she went to instead of him. And because of her coming back maybe things would end up badly. But they will find out something and what will happen by it. "To see where it all began / Or end up at the bottom / To watch how it all ends".

"You tried to lie and Say I was everything I remember when I said I'm nothing without you"

I think she told him he meant everything to her, he was her 'everything' and he's saying she lied about it because if that was true then she wouldn't have gone with another man. I think the last half of this is obvious: He told her she was his everything, and without her, he was nothing.

"Somehow I found A way to get lost in you Let me inside Let me get close to you Change your mind"

Here he's telling her to actually give him a chance to get closer to her. He's so in love with her and he's telling her to give him a shot, she wouldn't want to be with any other person if she opened her heart to him in a more intimate way (being together) "change your mind" [about him, that he can be more than she thought].

"I'll get lost If you want me to Somehow I found A way to get lost in you"

But if she doesn't want to give him a chance - gets tired of the fact he is in love with her and can't see her in any other way because he's so in love with her 'lost in her' - then he will leave her alone if that's what she truly wants.

"You always thought that I left myself open But you didn't know I was already broken"

I see this part a little differently than others I think. I interpret this part as during their 'friendship' he never bothered to be with anyone else. "open" being single such as randomthoughts4 said. But he was just so in love with her he couldn't imagine being with anybody else and he was sad that he knew they wouldn't be together "broken"/broken-hearted.

"I told myself that It wouldn't be so bad Pulling away you took Everything that I had"

He knew she wouldn't be with him. He was expecting she would find another person to be with that wasn't himself. But what he didn't plan for was that it would hurt him so badly when she actually did leave him. "Pulling away you took everything that I had"

"The pain of it all The rise and the fall I see it all in you"

I feel this has a lot more meanings than I can think of. But the one thing that comes to mind, I think that was previously mentioned - is that she embodies everything he went through. She was the peak of his happiness "the rise" and the cause of his pain "the fall" And when he see's her she just brings it all back. The good and the bad. It's bittersweet when he sees her.

"Now everyday I find myself sayin' I want to get lost in you I'm nothing without you"

But he doesn't care about the pain because he loves her so much that it doesn't matter in the end as long as she's with him. She makes him a better person "Im nothing without you"

"Somehow I found A way to get lost in you"

Even though she caused him so much pain, he realizes that his life has no meaning without her. He doesn't know what to do because she isn't with him. He's completely in love with her, and totally lost without her.
