I think that this song is about a girl who is caught in the dilemma's of bad relationship.
'he is a dog,but he's dressed up like a sheep', pretty straight forward, the person who she is singing about is obviously concealing themselves behind innocence (sheep), and she has found out that he has a bad history/is a bad person (bones all through the backyard - hidden secrets)
Sometimes when i listen to it i think she is singing about a serial killer or a murderer(The lady living next door Well she's 6 feet under the dirt) but i think she has just used this as a metaphor for a person she has been messed up in with.
