i think this song is about frank turner's thought about modern society. it's kind of like in sons of liberty where he talks about being free from the influence of the government and the church, libertarian kind of ideas. similar to how in their early days americans thought the epitome of freedom was being a farmer... living off your own land, not answering to authority, etc.
he talks about how modern amenities like computers and filtered air actually enslave us in the day to day grind and it would be much better to go back to the days where a man could just farm the land or go out to sea and fish and make a living off a hard day's work.
