I can't believe nobody has commented on this yet. This is one of Pat's best songs im my opinion, better than many of the songs she is best known for. The meaning is pretty obvious, anti-war and promoting a pieceful worldview, "As nations we're divided, but as people we are one". Amen to that! In addition to the lyrics themselves, I like how there is a kind of contrast to this song. The chorus has a rather happy, positive, and uplifting sound but the words express sorrow and a bit of anger. I don't know what it is about that combination but I really like it.
