I can relate to this perfectly.
I think that its like a distance relationship, hence "on your own"
and when you are away, is just isnt the same as being with the person. you don't know what to talk about. as much as you want to make it work, you can't
and when you're on your own you see that the other person is happy and try everything to fix that but nothing really works. "i can't find what your looking for, nothings left"
you start thinking about the relationship and realize how different it is from when you first met that person and you know that as much as you want to be with that person, you know its to an end and don't want it to drag out.
