I think this song is about a man who finds difficulty in expressing himself verbally. He can dance, walk and sing wonderfully, but when it comes to simple words he falls over himself, stutters, and just cannot say what he thinks. "Makes more sense in my head" seems to refer to the thoughts in his head sounding perfect and succinct but not being able to say the words out loud, for whatever reason that may be.
