I take it as someone who went through an addiction and is battling themselves but telling them that they want to quit. And he wants to feel alive because the addiction of whatever it is is getting to the point where he doesn't even have the sense of "living" anymore. Hense the "I am not innocent" because he realized that the addiction is bad. But I like how he's "Not afraid" to take a stand instead of being consumed into his problem.(:That's just how I viewed the song when I heard it. I also LOVE this song. It's amazing. <3.
