I think this is the most obviously political song they've ever written. I think it could be argued that some of their songs have an undertone of mocking conservative government and anyone else who they think is politically idiotic. I mean, Damian wrote "How Your Band Can Fire Bush" for god's sake, and Damian isn't religious at all, so we know where they (specifically Damian) stand. It's no secret. But I love that they just went for it in this song, and it still sounds wonderful. Plus the melody is simple, but still danceable. Plus I love that Damian is almost yelling the lyrics. Like he really wants you to shut up and listen. And DO something.
It's moments like these that make me remember why OK Go is my absolute favorite band in the whole world. Brilliant. Favorite song on the new album.
