Nick hasn't lost his talent and his lyrics haven't "deteriorated" nor disappeared.
He's just as talented, bands ALWAYS do this. They always need to be trying different sounds, although no one likes to see their bands get blown up, changing their sound can sometimes make them more successful. They deserve it.
this song is beautiful, not as poetic but that's because it's a little more straightforward with the metaphors. It's something like routinexriot said, feeling lost, you just don't know where to go but you know that in time all will pass.. because dust storms and everything else passes.
I love this music dearly and I guess I'm just open to their changes.
