So.. song meaning time..

According to an interview I saw, this song was inspired by the Holi Festival in India (hence the drum beats). Its partially a commentary on the cast system, with lines like, "Its' unbelievable see we're dead flies in the summer time" labeling the worth of the bottom of the cast system. Also, comparing themselves again to insects in the second verse, lessening the worth of the person by what they own.. a modern version of today's cast system within America. It begs the question, what would you become if you lost everything? Just another rat on the street.

The "duct tape scars" is another poverty reference. Duct tape, the versatile gift from the gods, can be used as sutures if nothing else is available. The bottom of the cast system cannot afford hospitals, so their scars are made up of duct tape sutures.

Regardless of meaning, this song very powerful, probably my favorite off the album. If nothing else, I feel like it's calling to not destroy the corporation, the government, "the man" as many punk songs call for, but to destroy the cast system, this system that backs us into an economic hole, regardless of social status, making it nearly impossible to break from. Destroy the labels, destroy the discrimination against poverty. Rebuild to become a stronger and more unified humanity.
