I think it's making a comment on the meaning of life (or the meaninglessness of it). Like we're the saddest animals on the planet, because we make up these delusions of status and money and love, when in the end we die with nothing and the world keeps turning. We're the only animal on earth that takes medication for feeling sorry for ourselves or not being satisfied with life...we're just all around depressing ;) But that's what we have music for, to take the edge off!!!
