This is my favorite underated song. Unluckly, I can't really understand it really well.
But my only idea about it, it's probably a reference to the Berlin Wall during the Cold war, and how people are feeling dependent about it, and might also be afraid to act, when they might be killed (As the wall gets taller As you get smaller As we get smaller The fear is getting taller).
As for the part "Drag me back Drag me back Through the revolution without solution", I think it's recalling the beginning of the Cold War and the Berlin wall being created. But if we link this to the song title, I guess it's like a return in the past. But if we look at it more clearly, it can also relate to the theory of surpassing the speed of light and seeing the past, since a Neon is like some kind of light.
