From the very moment I first heard this song, I wondered why it had been reduced to a bonus track when it easily outshone many of the songs on Speak Now...and then, as I was listening to "All I Wanted" by Paramore, something suddenly stuck me. Now I'm not going to cry plagiarism, because that is such a strong word (and also a very subjective one when it comes to music), but I couldn't help but notice a distinctive sameness to the choruses of both songs. Before anyone objects, listen to guitar riff between 0:53 and 1:06 of Paramore's track. Now listen to the first half of the chorus of Taylor's ("Come back, come back, come back to me-e like you would, you would if this was a movie [...] Come back, come back, come back to me-e like you could, you could if you just said you're sorry.") The melodies of both are identical, note for note. It's undeniable. Now, of course, this could have been completely unintentional on Taylor's part (note that "All I Wanted" was written first)...but now that I've realized it, I can't help but wonder if the song was placed in this lesser position in order to not draw attention to itself. A beautiful song, nonetheless.
I don't hear it. It sounds more like some Boys Like Girls songs. Which makes sense, since she co-wrote it with BLG lead singer Martin Johnson. And I'm pretty sure Taylor's song WAS written first. Because her and Martin were hanging out/writing songs together in like, 2006/2007. I'm pretty sure this was just an old song that she dug up because it fit something she was going through at the time she was working on Speak Now. Same thing happened with "The Way I Loved You" and Fearless. It was a last minute addition, but an old song.

And I don't think ITWAM ever had a shot at making the actual album, since it's a co-write. It's a great song. But not worth no longer being able to say that she wrote every song on the album by herself.
Hmm I can see your point but listening to all the bonus tracks on Speak Now (and in fact Fearless) I feel as though many of them are about John Mayer, she really seemed to put him on a pedastal.
On Fearless for instance the bonus tracks 'Untouchable' and 'SuperStar' are possibly about him, he was the celebrity that all the girls wanted.
On Speak Now, the bonus tracks 'Ours' and 'Superman' are about when they were together and how everyone told her to get out of the relationship yet she didn't. I think that 'If this was a movie', whilst...

I think he really messed her up and was a huge part of her life but she perhaps didn't to draw attention to this fact. Just my humble opinion and either way I LOVE her albums :D
