What I interpret this song to be about personally is depression.
We've all been there where we lose a friend or loved one and we kinda lose faith and believe "making friends is never logical" because we dont want to feel the pain of loss. I think the song is about Chris sitting in his room or on his bed just thinking about life. "My thoughts are logical in my bedroom." He's alone and he can make impersonal decisions regarding why hes upset or depressed. I think the part about tossing the body to the sea is him letting go of the friend or loved one. Hes letting realization sink in and deciding to let go because he doesn't need the anxiety of feeling upset. Or maybe he realized that the friend wasnt really a friend at all "I know who you are, dirty yellow star."
