The Present

i always think of this song as a guy, who is trying his hardest to get a girl (i know it's not necessarily a female but in terms on concepts it works) but she's recently had a really bad break up, or a really tough time in her life which is stopping him from acting upon his feelings. it's like he's trying to reassure her he's 'always here', to give her a reason to come close to him, and that 'time is a healer' - we all know things get better with time and he wants her to 'let it go'. he's trying his best to do romantic things to make her see him in the way he wants her to - like stealing her a ring. he's trying to get her to 'come over' and he 'can't wait' for time to act as a healer: so they can be together. totally different to what everyone else said but why not be controversial eh.. this is newly one of my favourite bloc party songs, i could never choose a favourite because i'm in love with them all..

my favourite line is 'baby your smile, baby your smile... i come, alive'. it's absolutely beaaaaaaautiful ciao xxx
