I've often wondered about the bridge verse:
"Now and then I call your name
And suddenly your face appears
But it's just a crazy game
When it ends it ends in tears"
Does this mean they repeatedly get together again for a bit but inevitably break up? Or is this just imaginary (making it all the more pathetic and sad)?
