I just discovered this song the other night (heard "Come Through" by Samantha James on a DirecTV music radio channel and downloaded her discography) and I LOVE IT! I can just picture myself rolling, waving some glowsticks while dancing my ass off. Singing along, of course. But I digress.

Clearly this song is about having a positive, collectivist outlook on life. The only way this world can change and progress forward is by leaning on each other, rejecting negativity and isolationism to bring forth a more humanistic worldview. Personally, when I listen to this song I like to think that the lyric "you need to let go" is saying that we need to let go of preconceived notions, our addiction to individualism, greed, and capitalistic evils so that we can realize that the only true happiness lies in living for our fellow man.

America stands for everything I hate about this world. The emphasis on "individuality," which only serves to divide social/economic groups based on arbitrary "differences" instead of emphasizing our shared humanity; our addiction to money and "things" at the expense of the poor/less fortunate members of our society and our world; and equating happiness with how much money is in your bank account and how many material possessions we own. Sorry, I'm not trying to write a research paper here. But this song makes me really happy with how positive it is and the ideals that it represents (to me, at least).

Plus it's a super catchy electronic dance song, so it's like sugar to my ears.
