I agree with you guys but I think the meaning could be something else too.

I might saying nonsense but this song reminds me of Matrix. Lol. It's like someone from Zion is telling how they let machines take control of their lives. The machines were meant to serve us but they end up owning our lives and hunt us down. The people has to hide as long as they can from the machines but they know that the war between them is inevitable.

"I swear we cannot wake up from this Hell that we live in But when the sun finally hits our face We see that were were only reflections of reflections left by our predecessors Dragged through the mud Chained by the ankle There is no more running, there is no more escaping If only God could lay His hands down on this barren land and wake us up Cause we are the lost, we are the helpless, we are the forgotten ones"

This part he thinks about the whole situation and everything the people has gone through, then he find himself hopeless. Only God could save them.

"I swear its worth saving us We pray for the sun to dry us up I need a clearer head to see what we are worth There's still life down here left to revolt Oh I know what it looks like from there A loss of control to this place and we're set to extinct"

So he is prays to God and ask Him to help and save them.

So... It makes any sense or I'm just tripin'?

P.S: Sorry about my english =)

That's exactly what I thought when I heard this. But I really think this song is Underoath's envision of a dystopia.
