I read the lyrics a couple times while listening to the song, and, uh, I think it's about sex, at least in part. He sees this chick as absolutely perfect and wants her to be with/a part of him. But this perfect image involves her being helpless, like a porcelain doll or something. "You could not make it on your own". It refers to his unwillingness to see her as an independent being "You can't start from where I end".
But this is where the meaning doubles, I think "You can't start from where I end" and "unite" both refer to sex, and the supernova is climax...
