I think this song is Anthony's way of addressing how we can hate people without knowing anything about them, and saying that "For all the reasons we could think to hate you, we want to make it right." He says pretty clearly that we are all the same, and we all go through the same problems at some point in our life. when he says "Just say you'll keep your mind on everyone..", he wants us to think about others and to keep in mind how they are people just like you are. The chorus is the tying message; the first line, "And take a last long look at where you are", is almost a departure from your old stereotypes. the second line, "Allowance received and I cant believe there's anything like this", is his entrance into this new way of seeing things, and how amazed he is with how they live. the last lines, "'cause if youre half as good as you say you are, then you can prove anything to us", is a challenge to open your mind and show people who you really are and give the worlds your gifts, so they can be passed on as the interlude says. The lines "Stare like you'll stay alive, if you stare like you're there" means we should always be aware of other people and not the walking dead, and to acknowledge other peoples existence as it really is, not based on our stereotypes.

I think you're spot on!
