I think this song is Anthony's way of addressing how we can hate people without knowing anything about them, and saying that "For all the reasons we could think to hate you, we want to make it right." He says pretty clearly that we are all the same, and we all go through the same problems at some point in our life. when he says "Just say you'll keep your mind on everyone..", he wants us to think about others and to keep in mind how they are people just like you are.
