I think this song about someone who is in love with another person, yet their love is not returned or, at least, that's what they think.
"I know this isn't enough, I still don't measure up".
(S)he has someone better than they think they could ever be... The person who is in love has quiet a few issues, and sees the person they love to be close to perfect and absolutely amazing...
They want to be with the person they love, but, they don't think they deserve them. They're scared to hurt them, and also know at the same time they'd be "Good to" that person.
They think the person they love would be good to them, too.. But, since they think that love would never happen, they put it to the back of their mind as a pipe dream..
Then..

They thought at one point the person who they love loved them back, but then, felt as if they never cared; so they want the person to know that they love them more than anything before leaving and trying to block that pain out of their life..
