well, i think it is vague but very personal because it's about life... as everyone must experience, there's always our failures, struggles and heartaches.. so, the only interpretation that will matter to us is how we see life through this song, which has very much reflected in it... maybe that is why people keep on stressing that this song is about that or this is because everyone of us can relate...
for me though, this is a cry for help.. and i think it's not just any cry but a very desperate one--like his life is hanging on the line.. and when, times like that happens... i think we all know who are we calling to-- i think we all know who is always our last hope--- our last resort because it's the hope that truly matters...we all end up calling and pleading for One name, really...
so, if you try to think on it, whatever the story we may have related to it or deemed fit for this song, you may even deny that it's a cry of desperation-- a cry to God, we should know better.. at the end of the day, havent we asked God? then, wouldnt that mean that God really is our hope?
