It’s all about being a kid and how your imagination can just run wild. A day out with your friends turns into this epic battle. I really love dogs and my dog, Scout, actually passed away just after I had written this song. It’s kind of a tribute to him. We grew up together and would go on these wild adventures. We did everything together. He even toured with Fear Before and was in the studio when we recorded [2008’s Fear Before]. I miss that dude everyday. The first verse of this song is inspired by him and different dogs that I‘ve known. It talks about them preparing to go into battle on their own adventure. This song really is about youth, and how easy it to be carefree and imaginative when you’re young. It hints at the dramas of adulthood and the futility of war. If you read into it, it’s also easy to tell how deeply I detest war and violence. Children are being robbed of their innocence and turned into war machines.
