Lyric discussion by CathW06

First one to comment? Ok then.. When I hear this song I always think Neil is reflecting on his children growing up and going out into the world, but he wants to remember when they were young and dependent and not to be cynical about the world. There are some parts that don't fit as well with that analogy but I think it's aimed at his sons. Liam is also a musician and the lines "you are free now to go wherever you want/ when you sing about love, what are you thinking of?/nothing like waking up in some foreign town/music the call to prayer/wailing out of speakers in the market place/the first time" are about Liam travelling the world playing music. I quite like to think of this song in that way but would love to know others' opinions
